Here is Carol she is so much more beautiful than the Brama Bull I still cannot believe that the Bull fits in this Van with the Donkey.

Here is Diane with the Donkey he was so cute I cannot believe that his owners hall him and the Brama Bull in this Van.

We found out that the Brama Bull does not have top teeth they use their tongue to eat with it is a very large tongue.

Hey that looks like fun now its your turn to put me down or I'll jump off then what!!!!!!!!!!!!

Teeter totter anyone I bet it will take both of you to lift me up high says the bull.

He tried to saddle the donkey but he wanted no part of it so the donkey took off his blanket and saddle and walked with the saddle in his mouth to the owner as if to say " here you wear it".

Here the donkey is getting a bottle of beer no need to get it yourself, he'll do it for you

Between the donkey and the Bull these two animals did lots of different tricks, from retreiving a ball to getting a hat and pulling a handkerchief from his backpocket.

As you can see the donkey went in one door and came out the side door he loads both the donkey and the Brama bull in this van when he travels to different shows. They seem to like the van very much.

In the town of Bouse Carol and Diane went to see a show with a Donkey and a minature Brama Bull, here we found that these two animals could do lots of tricks, here you see them loading the donkey into the van they use to transport these two animals to different shows.

Here is Ken with Jim and Carol in the line up coming out of Mexico, this border crossing is very busy most people just walk across the border from the California side which is not far from Yuma, after you have done your shopping in Mexico you will find that the line up to go back to the states is usually quite long winding way back into the town of Algodones, it can take anywhere from 1 hour to 3 hours to get out of Mexico because of the thousands of people who come to visit, but the line up is fun you meet people, exchange stories and places you have been. Mexico is a great place.

On this February day as we celebrate a birthday in the Arizona sun, with food fit for a king, we all sit and ponder the thought that how many people we would know that good sit and enjoy a February birthday outside where they live, and we will soon be sitting around a bonfire to discuss the happenings of the day or our plans for days to come. We all love what we have chosen to do for our winters.

Jim is 69 today and we are going to have a birthday supper. We made sure to put pink icing on his birthday cake.

Jim is enjoying his day in his chair in the Arizona sun.

Who says MEN do not like pink!!!!!

I bet you thought this decorated cake was for a lady well some men do like pink so we made a chocolate cake with pink icing for Jim our Canadian friend.

Some of the desert floweres which are starting to bloom because of the little rain we have had, can't wait for more catus to bloom

Here is Kathy and Patty at yet another cabin found in the desert you just never know where you'll find one this one is not made of stone however, it is a block cabin.

Here we find Kathy and Patty looking for a place to hide a geocash they set up.

A closer look at the cabin here Diane and Patty are standing in the doorway, the few they see is spectacular and their imaginations run wild as to how those before them lived so far in the desert those many many years ago.

The desert holds many secrets, in this picture you can see Kathy and Patty coming up to a stone cabin, there are many many stone cabins of all shapes and sizes to be found in the desert around Quartzsite Arizona, and as you ponder as to why this cabin would be here you can imagine many things, a miners cabin perhaps, keep in mind all this cabins are showing their age and we should respect them when we do find such a treasure.

On the day Diane Kathy and Patty went geocashing, they were heading to a place called the Spanish wall.

There are stories of this wall being built by the Spaniards but one would wonder why? This wall is slowly deteriating from the winds and weather of the desert, soon I think all the rocks will be on the desert floor, it is something everyone should try to get to see before it is yet again past history.

Diane Kathy and Patty have headed out to the desert to plant and to find a geocash, geocashing is fun it is hiding little things in tin cans etc. then marking the coordenets to find them, then you would submit it on the internet and anyone who is into geocashing can look for your treasure. The idea is to find and take something from it and leave something in returen, you also put down the date and your name as to when you checked that geocash.

Quartzsite Quad Parade 2009

A few of the line up of quads. In front is our friends Jim and Kathy's quad with fake snow and their dog dressed up in a fur parka, cute dog and the idea of snow as they are from Canada is fitting.

This is our other friends Dan and Patty they entered the quad parade also. Their quad had a group of hearts on it with the names of their children and grandchildren on it. Another good idea.

Getting the final touches done, Ken and Jim assembling our camel heads.

Diane and friend Jim grinding their rocks for the opal that is hiding in it, it is a big job but they are determined to find that special opal.

Diane hard at work cutting and grinding to find her opal, this process is very time consuming first you have to get the rock that has a layer of opal in it, this particular kind has a very thin line of opal running through it, there are several layers and if by chance you grind to far on one layer you usually have another one to work on, you have to be paitient and go out in the sunlight often to see that you are not grinding away to much of the opal, the sun shows up the opal really well. Once you get most of the grinding done you will see the different colours of the opal appear on your stone, it really is a beautiful site, then you can make rings or necklaces or whatever you want to show off your opal.

Diane has joined the Quartzsite Rock and Gem Club it is the largest Rock club in the United States. Here Diane is grinding an opal which she cut from a larger piece, it is a long process but the final result should be beautiful.
